A growling bear
A growling bear feasting in virtuosic heights and he finds the city just "wonderful" Successful "Meisterkonzert" with Steven mead and the "Musikverein Ossweil Stadtkapelle Ludwigsburg" - With wittiness and lightness the audience enchanted.
He was the growling bear, the singing bird, an acting Rocking Roller; he was producing with his instrument the funniest sounds and simulated a formula 1 race car. The world’s best Euphonium player, Steven Mead inspired over 800 visitors at the Meisterkonzert in the Forum.
With his uncomplicated sympathetic way, the British soloist was able to bring the listeners on his side. By all the presented ease, it was the immense ability of the professional soloist to play with the rather for its heaviness known Baritone, with light footed poetry and proved with powerful fast runs as well as with unknown virtuosity his ability.
A Class for it self was the Grand Wind Band of the "Musikverein Ossweil Stadtkapelle Ludwigsburg" under the conductor Horst Bartmann which for the first time realized the idea of a "Meister Konzert" with the performance of an outstanding artist. It was indented to bring professionals and amateurs together and it was finalized with success.
A brilliant evening with symphonfonic wind music at the highest level fascinated the music lovers. Steven Mead convinced with wittiness and elegant light footed variations with the Donietti Opera "Der Liebstrunk", in which the soloist fascinated with colourful playing and presented the Italian charm of this opera in a perfect way. Deep emotional was the duet played with intense feeling underlined with tender tunes by Euphonium and Oboe.
Also typical Italian was the "Fantasia di Concerto" a venal piece with folkloristic speed and a perfect dialog between soloist and orchestra. The magic of youth and the untamed with energy loaded love of live was presented by the Star and the wind orchestra with humour by a further composition.
In the second part of the evening, Steven Mead convinced the Audience with his large improvisation ability with humorous deviating solo parts. But the British soloist added with "Hora Staccato" an additional highlight: Originally composed for two solo trumpets, he played both solo parts by him self with bravura and the audience only remained with disbelief. And then came the successful Finale with " S`Wonderful" one of the nicest Gershwin Melodies, played by the orchestra in best Big Band style and underlined by Steven Mead with swinging accents.
"Ludwigsburg is a beautiful City" was Steven Mead’s statement at the end and he played additional solo parts with wittiness as additions for which he received standing ovations. Big ovations have also been received by the impressive playing "Stadkapelle Ludwigsburg", the beginning with the beat of the kettle drum and "Also sprach Zarathustra" started the evening with a magnificent atmosphere and symphonic compositions with enthusiasm.
Musical variety in the program, announced by Anita Dvorschak, was also added by the brass assemble of the "Musikverein Ossweil Stadtkapelle Ludwigsburg" conducted by y Peter Teufel with the " Echoes of Harlem " a jazz piece perfectly presented by the group.
