Internet connections permitting Steve will be giving daily reports on his visit to Brazil , at the 1st National Festival for Euphonium and Tuba., now called 1st Festival International Carlos Gomes Steve will make his first ever visit to Brazil in July 2009, from 13-19th. Home of great football , now the country hosts it's first National Meeting for Tuba and Euphonium players.He is invited as a guest soloist and teacher.

O objetivo do encontro é proporcionar aos profissionais e estudantes desses instrumentos a oportunidade de fazerem contatos com profissionais de altissimo nível, que, pela primeira vez estarão no Brasil, e poderão transmitir conhecimentos de novas técnicas, o que possibilitará a reciclagem e aprimoramento de seus conhecimentos.

As atividades serão organizadas da seguinte forma:

• Período da manhã: Warm-up e master classes com os professores convidados;
• Período da tarde: master classes e ensaios dos grupos de música de câmara;
• Período da noite: concertos e recitais com os professores e profissionais convidados
