Steve is recovering at home following his successful neck/spine operation on saturday 13 June at Coventry's Meriden Hospital. The two hour operation has been declared a complete success with all the intense pain from the right shoulder and arm now gone. Surgeon, Mr Shad visited Steve on sunday and monday mornings explained all had gone well, although rupture to the spinal cord had been severe and the operation took longer than usual as it has to be completed with meticulous care so that permanent damage wasn't done to the arms and legs. A 100% recovery seems certain.
Good news is that euphonium playing has already recommenced ! He had his mouthpiece with him is hospital (against family advice !) and played for two hours today (tuesday)!!
Steve wishes to thank all the people who have messaged, emails and called with their best wishes in the past days. It has meant so much.
The next work for Steve is officiating as the adjudicator at the famous Bugle Brass Band contest (next saturday !!!) then off to his friends in Amantea, south west Italy, for two concerts . Then its a visit to Switzerland and then onto his first ever visit to Brazil.
Thanks again for all the kind wishes of support.
