Whitburn Band played to a TV audience of millions at Scottish International rugby, see photo !

The Whitburn Band performed to an audience of millions this weekend -at the mighty Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.

Six Nations

The Scottish champion were recently been asked to play at all of Scotland's RBS 6 Nations rugby games at Murrayfield this season, and on Sunday they performed the Welsh anthem, 'Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau' -'Land of My Fathers' - before the defending champions Wales went on to beat Scotland.

Steve added his sound to the band in the stadium ! The Band received a huge ovation from the thousands of travelling Welsh fans as they left te pitch.

Following the brief performance at 2.56pm precisely the band returned to the band room in Whitburn some 15 miles away to rehearse for 3 hours in preparation for the Scottish regional brass band championships in March, where Steve will conduct.

A spokesperson from Whitburn Band told 4BR: "We are delighted that the Scottish Rugby Union has asked us to play at the home 6 Nations games. Whitburn is no stranger to performing at prestigious sporting events. For over 30 years, we played the away team's national anthems at Hampden for Scottish international football games."
