It was recorded live at Symphony Hall , Osaka, Japan in June 2008 and features ‘In League With Extraordinary Gentlemen’ , the new Euphonium Concerto by Peter Graham. The band is outstanding and you hear Peter’s superb scoring for band in this incredibly well recorded piece. The electronics used in the middle section are exactly as the audience heard it. The full range of Steve’s tone and technique can be heard of this recording which got rave reviews from the Japanese music press.

The Osaka Municipal Band
Prompted by the many requests of the citizens, the Osaka Municipal Symphonic Band (OMSB) was established in 1923 and now carries the longest history of any professional symphonic wind orchestra in Japan.
The OMSB has regular performances, as well as youth concerts, pop concerts, and wind orchestra festivals. "Twilight Concerts" on summer nights at Osaka Castle Bandshell and "Lunchtime Concerts" during the spring and fall are held.In addition, music appreciation gatherings and wind orchestra clinics for school groups, performances for official city functions, and concerts by request are held. Through such activities, the OMSB strives to offer more citizens the opportunity to become involved in music.
Recently, the OMSB has also been working to expand its symphonic repertoire, and inviting guest conductors and soloists to appear. In addition, it has been working on CD recordings, including new pieces from home and abroad. The OMSB has already completed over 100 pieces that were first performed in Japan.
