1. Concours Tuba Tours - FRANCE
International competition for Saxhorn, Euphonium and Tuba, held in France. Final round of contest will be accompanied by string orchestra. First prize : €2500 + €1500 vouchers (Buffet group) - 2nd prize : €1500 + €1000 vouchers (Buffet group) - 3rd prize : €900 + €500 vouchers (Buffet group). International jury. Original music pieces are specially composed for the competition.

Competition Objectives
Our goal is to exchange professional experience, to discover talents and to promote brass
chamber music.

Competition Rules and Requirements
The competition is opened for brass chamber groups, containing any brass
instruments, with a minimum of three and a maximum of six members (trio, quartet,
quintet, sextet).
Duplication of the parts is not allowed. If a band duplicates parts, they will be
excluded from the competition.
The judges may stop the performance when time is over.
Both rounds are opened to the public.
During the performances photographs, videos and sound recording may be made by
the Festival that may be broadcasted and may be used as promotion.
Categories
Category A
For music school students who were born on the 21 of April 2004 or later.
Category B
For music school students who were born on the 21 of April 1995 or later. Contestants having
completed secondary education in music or having graduated as musicians are not allowed to
enter the Category B.
Category C
For students who attend the music secondary vocational school. In this category ensembles
can have members who attend the music school.
Category D
Competitors who were born on 21 of April 2002 or earlier (no maximum age limit).
Each ensemble can participate in only one category.

Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester. Head of the Jury.
Dr. Gusztáv Hőna - Liszt-awarded trombonist, professor of trombone of Liszt Ferenc
Academy of Music, Budapest.
Kazuhiro Nakamura (Japan) - tuba player, chamber music teacher of Osaka College of
Music.

Program of the Competition
Round One
Two optional pieces, or movements, from different musical periods.
Round Two
Two optional pieces, or movements, from different musical periods.
The program of the second round must be completely different than the first round. Playing
the same pieces or movements in different rounds is not allowed.
Program time (per round)
Category A: 4-6 minutes
Category B: 5-8 minutes
Category C: 8-12 minutes
Category D: 15-20 minutes
Competition Awards
Judges can give prizes for first, second and third place in each category.
Prizes for Category A, B and C may be valuable objects.
Prizes for Category D:
First Place: 1.000.000 HUF
Second Place: 500.000 HUF
Third Place: 300. 000 HUF

Accommodation and dining must be arranged by the competitors (and their teachers or
parents) on their own. Please, contact us, if you need information or help concerning
accommodation.

Category A, B and C: no application fee
Category D: 7.500 HUF/person
