I've just returned from the weekend workshop and recital in Deidesheim, Germany (12,13th March). It was a very great success and a perfect weekend in every way; great organisation from Kerstin and husband Erich, an excellent venue for both the workshop and concert, and great accompanying from my pianist Asta Kvasyte. My workshop students, 23 of them, were a receptive and enthusiastic group who gave absolutely 100% effort during the two days. The Steigenberger Hotel in Deidesheim was also really first class. The weather was perfect and the food and wine..quite exquisite ! One shadow over the whole weekend was the unfolding events in Japan, and the whole world watched with horror at the images we saw on the TV. My mind was constantly thinking of my Japanese friends and their families. In the concert I dedicated a piece to them.

Just before I left the town this morning they handed me the morning paper, with a large, and I'm told good, review of the recital I gave with Asta on saturday.
