Following recording ‘4 Euphoniums for you’ with Steven Mead, harpist, Lucy Haslar completed her Bachelors degree at the Royal Northern College of Music with first class honours and was awarded a scholarship to attend the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York for her Masters degree in Harp Performance.
During her time at Eastman Lucy performed with many different ensembles including the Eastman Philharmonia, new music group Ossia and the Eastman Virtuosi. In September 2007 Lucy won an audition to play principle harp with the Eastman Wind Ensemble in a collaborative recording with renowned quintet, Canadian Brass. Following this she went on tour to Sardinia with the Eastman Broadband Ensemble where they gave 2 performances of a new Mexican opera. In the summer of 2007 she spent 6 weeks at the Brevard Music Festival in North Carolina for which she attended on scholarship and more recently she was principle harpist with the American Wind Symphony Orchestra with whom she gave a performance of the Badings concerto for Harp and Wind Orchestra. Lucy graduated from Eastman in May 2008 and was awarded the Robert Barlow Prize for Excellence in Harp Performance.
