My schedule is indeed a little mad at the moment, even by my standards. Following the gala concert in Bergen, and incidentally massive thanks to my friends at Eikanger Bjorsvik for their superb accompaniment, I managed a couple of hours sleep amidst the noisy mayhem that is Bergen city centre on a saturday night/sunday morning, before heading to the airport at 4.45am and then onto Amsterdam and then into Newcastle, arriving backstage at The Sage, Gateshead at 11am.
Perforning in Bergen with Eikanger Bjorsvik, Sat.6th Feb 2010
Ray Farr does a great job with his series of band concerts there and the 2pm concert had around a 1000 people in the audience, really amazing. Thanks to Hepworth Band for the accompaniment to my four solos. Most enjoyable.
Then it was time to find my hotel, sleep and head back to Newcastle.
There was a two hour interruption in my finishing this note as my name was called at 5.55, to say my flight was closing..I thought it was 6.30am, if fact it was 6.05 ! JUST made it...so, now back on plan.
Today, monday will be spent from 2pm at the Grieg MusikConservatory and then onto Trondheim, Tromso and then Oslo.
Huge thanks to Gregory Demaiily from Buffet Crampon who's organised all this for me. It's a busy and exciting time at Buffet Crampon right now and so I really appreciate the care and attention gone into making this trip work.
