I have had great pleasure watching this competition grow in stature over recent years, and to my mind it is now the greatest bi-annual brass solo competition in the world, attracting as it does superb players and a distinguished panel of adjudicators, and it all takes place at this incredible venue for a summer festival.
The island of Jeju is situated to the south of the mainland South Korea. It's hot, but the air conditioning works great and there is always a warm breeze. You will experience sights and sounds and food that you never imagined.
It is a vacation destination for many Koreans, with many golf courses and beautiful natural surroundings.
During the competition there are many world class brass ensembles to listen to when you are not practising or competing.
This year I will be there on the jury once again and also conducting and playing with Sound Inn Brass.
The solo competitions are for trumpet, horn, euphonium, trombone and tuba.
There are superb cash prizes to be won as well as giving all competitors ten days to remember in this friendly and very high level competition.
